On the 16th anniversary of the 2008 war, Prime Minister - Irakli Kobakhidze, Speaker of Parliament - Shalva Papuashvili, Minister of Education, Science and Youth - Giorgi Amilakhvari, along with members of the executive and legislative branches, paid tribute to the fallen heroes.
Giorgi Amilakhvari expressed, "We all remember the tragic events in the recent history of our country, which claimed the lives of our fighters, compatriots, and many innocent civilians. I bow my head in respect for the fallen heroes whose sacrifices exemplified extraordinary bravery and love during the August war.
Today, it is our duty to honor the achievements for which our ancestors and fellow citizens fought. Despite the challenges we face, we must continue to pursue peaceful development and work toward a better future for Georgia. I believe that we, Georgians, will realize our cherished dream of uniting the country and reclaiming our lost territories."
