Within the scope of EU Research and Innovation Programme "Horizon 2020", an informative day and seminar was held for the Georgian scientists and the project’s National Contact Points (NPC) at “Holiday Inn Tbilisi”. The seminar was opened by the First Deputy Minister – Ms. Ketevan Natriashvili.
The representatives of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, and its general director –Ms. Marine Chitashvili, the representative of the EU delegatation in Georgia, the head of the Cooperation Department – Mr. Vincent Rey, the director of the Ceter for Social Innovationan (ZSI) – Dr. Klaus Schuch, and foreign scientists attended the seminar.
The goal of the seminar was to provide Georgian scientists with the necessary practical information on the EU's research and innovation framework programme. In order to share their experience, the experts from the EU member states and Eurocommission were invitied at the seminar, where the following issues were discussed:
It should be emphasized, that the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Ms. Tamar Sanikidze and Research and Innovation Commissioner – Mr. Carlos Moedas, signed the association agreement of “EU research and innovation program Horizon 2020”. Consequently, the sharing of experience for the Georgian scientists is of vital importance.
