Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport held a briefing regarding the systematic changes in the Ministry.
According to Mikheil Batiashvili, he accepted the resignation of the following officials: the Deputy Ministers - Temur Murghulia and Lia Gigiauri, the director of National Education Development Center - Tamar Sanikidze, the director of the National Center for Teacher Professional Development – Giorgi Machabeli, the director of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation - Manana Mikaberidze and the director of the National Examinations Center - Maia Miminoshvili.
The Minister thanked them for their immense work and added, that he aims to make a significant wave of reforms in order to create a competitive education system in compliance with the modern demands, the one that requires new energy, new vision and new personnel policies.
Mikheil Batiashvili noted that the number of his deputies will be reduced and only five will remain instead seven. The amendments and general changes will continue, and in the nearest future the public will witness fresh and bold education system, compiled with brave decision-makers, whose appointments will be made through relevant procedures.
