Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia announces a competition for the position of Youth Representative of Georgia in the UN.
The Youth Representative Program is one of the successful UN initiatives launched in 1981. Georgia has been participating in the project since 2012 and is fully funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After winning the contest, selected representative will meet with young people from across the country and later, the candidate travels to the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA, where as a full member of the delegation will participate in the General Assembly’s Third Committee events and committee hearings.
Any citizen of Georgia from 18 to 25 years old can participate in the competition. Interested candidates should submit the following documents: Curriculum Vitae, Mandate Action Plan in English (with a budget of GEL 17,000) and an essay in English (maximum 500 words, font-size 11; Sylfaen, line 1) on the following subject:
The phrase "no one left behind" is at the forefront of sustainable development goals and is the theme of the first annual high level political forum on sustainable development. What does “no one left behind” mean, and why is it important for Georgia?
Applications will be submitted to the Chancellery of the Ministry of Education and Science by Dimitri Uznadze N52 (one copy) and electronically (compact disc) through August 26, 2019.
The competition will be held in three stages:
1. In the first stage, the candidates will be evaluated on the basis of the submitted documents.
2. Selected candidates will be interviewed by the Commission. The interview will be conducted in English.
3. The best candidates selected after the interview will address (in English) at a public event organized by the Ministry of Education and Science.
4. The winning candidate will be announced in September 2019.
