The
third European Youth Olympiad in Informatics ended in Maribor, Slovenia, where
Georgian students won 4 medals, 1 silver (George Nadareishvili) and 3 bronze
(Iakob Rigvava, Giorgi Chkhaidze, Erekle Khomasuridze). All four students are
from the Komarov School.
Of
the 24 countries participating in the Olympiad, only six were able to win four
of the 24 medals, and by this figure, Georgia was among the six strongest in
Europe. It is noteworthy that the novice members of the team participated in
such an important competition for the first time. Coaches - Team Leader,
Professor, Giorgi Mandaria and Thanalideri, Assistant - Professor Zaza
Gamezardashvili.
The
project was fully funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and
Sport of Georgia. Congratulations to the students and their teachers on this
great victory.
