The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli held a meeting with the Ambassador of Japan to Georgia, Imamura Akira and discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture, and sports.

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli hosted the Minister of European Neighborhood and Americas of the United Kingdom, Wendy Morton, who paid a working visit to Georgia, and discussed the issues of deepening cooperation between the two countries.

During the pandemic, for the first time throughout the country, studies were resumed in classrooms. The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli personally congratulated the students, teachers, school administration and parents on the resumption of studies and wished them academic success.

From February 15, the educational process in Tbilisi, Rustavi and Kutaisi schools continues in classrooms. Ekaterine Dgebuadze, First Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, together with Gela Geladze, Head of the Resource Officer Service of the educational institution, visited 155^th, 142^nd  and 159^th  public schools in Tbilisi on the day to personally inspect the schools.

Organized by the LEPL Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, all public schools in Georgia are equipped with the necessary resources for virus prevention. Schools have adequate supplies for the entire school year.

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli visited Tsisana Chabukiani, a meritorious teacher at 2^nd public school in the village of Mere Sviri, Zestaponi Municipality, and personally congratulated her on her 90^th birthday.

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, together with the representatives of the local authorities, got acquainted with the educational process in the public schools of the villages of Shuagori and Inashauri, Vani Municipality.

Compulsory systematic testing of teachers and administrative staff continues in public and private schools across the country.

Owing to the initiative of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, the Tamaz Gamkrelidze Prize will be established. The competition will be organized by Shota Rustaveli Georgian National Science Foundation.

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli hosted the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Georgia, Akbar Qasem Aliabad and congratulated him on his appointment.

From February 15, students from all over the country will return to classrooms where a safe educational environment is provided for them. Ekaterine Dgebuadze, First Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia held a briefing on the mentioned topic at the Ministry and answered all  questions from the media.

Owing to the Resolution N16 of the Government of Georgia of January 18, 2021, the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, approved a state program for vocational training and professional development, aimed at vocational training and retraining.
