Sophio Gogokhia became the winner of the 2020 National Teacher Award. The award was presented by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli and personally congratulated the winner.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia and the International Particle Physics Information Group (IPPOG). The document was signed by Minister Mikheil Chkhenkeli and IPPOG Chairmen, Dr. Stephen Goldfarb and Prof. Pedro Abreu.

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli took part in the jubilee event of Center for Law and Economics. At the event, a report on the activities of the first interdisciplinary centre in the field of law and economics, established in partnership with public-private universities, was presented. Also, a presentation was made by the Corporate Law Committee, which comprises of Supreme Court, Appellate and City Court judges and academics.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, according to the decision of the Interagency Council, starting from October 1, I-VI grade students in Tbilisi, Rustavi, Kutaisi, and Zugdidi will resume their studies in classrooms, while the learning process for VII-XII graders will continue remotely.

September 15, marks the beginning of the new academic year of 2020-2021 at public and private schools of Georgia. To prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, owing to the decision of the Interagency Coordination Council, headed by the Prime Minister, the remote educational process at schools and higher educational institutions in some cities and villages of Georgia already resumed on September 15, whereas from October 1, classes will continue across the country.
