Owing to the decision of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, the deadlines for electronic registration and submission of compulsory documentation within the selection competition for public school principals have been extended until March 2, 2024, at 18:00.
This decision, made to accommodate the interests of individuals aspiring to become school principals, aims to enhance the efficiency of the registration process.
As a reminder, candidates must be Georgian citizens and possess the following qualifications:
- Documentation confirming higher education
- At least 3 years of work experience, including a minimum of one year of teaching experience in the field of education.
To nominate themselves for consideration by the public school board of trustees, principal candidates must register electronically upon the announcement of the competition and specify up to three public schools where they wish to be considered by the commission.
Testing will be conducted through the education management information system in accordance with the rules and conditions outlined in the minister's individual administrative-legal act.
Candidates who pass the minimum competency threshold established by the minister's individual administrative-legal act for testing will proceed to the interview stage.
Successful candidates, upon passing the test, will undergo an interview with the commission(s) established by the minister's individual administrative-legal act, during which they will present their strategic development vision for the school(s) indicated during registration.
Candidates exempted from testing are those who possess a valid directorship certificate at the time of entry into force, as stipulated in the "Rules for holding the public school director selection competition" approved by Order No. 25/N of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia dated February 24, 2011. Such individuals must indicate their preferred public schools within the designated registration period and join the competition at the interview stage.
Candidates for directorship will be submitted for election by the minister's individual administrative-legal act exclusively to the boards of trustees of the public schools indicated during electronic registration.
