The Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari, along with US Ambassador Robin Dunnigan, held a meeting with members of the Business Leaders Council established within the USAID program "Employers for Vocational Education."
In his address, the minister emphasized the significance of public-private partnership in the advancement of vocational education. He emphasized the importance of collaborating with the business sector to jointly implement vocational education programs.
Moreover, Giorgi Amilakhvari highlighted that the government will invest in vocational education alongside private sector entities and employers. This collaborative effort aims to train individuals in alignment with market demand, thereby enhancing the employment rate.
Throughout the event, government and business representatives deliberated on specific instances of private sector involvement in developing employability skills. Such initiatives aim to assist job seekers in securing employment in growing sectors of the economy while providing local businesses with highly skilled, sought-after talent.
The meeting was attended by First Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Aleksandre Tsuladze, as well as Mariam Lashkhi, a member of the Education and Science Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.
