The Georgian national team had a successful outing at the 65th International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO 2024) held in the United Kingdom, securing 1 gold medal, 3 bronze medals, and an honorary diploma.
The gold medal was awarded to Vladimir Komarov from Tbilisi Physics and Mathematics 9th Public School. Bronze medals were earned by Ilia Vekua from Tbilisi Public School #42, Giorgi Kekenadze from Vladimir Komarov Tbilisi Physics and Mathematics Public School, and Mirza Shanidze, also from Vladimir Komarov Tbilisi Physics and Mathematics Public School. Additionally, a student from Tbilisi Physics and Mathematics Public School #199, Vladimir Komarov, received an honorary diploma.
The selection, preparation, and participation of the Georgian teams in the International Mathematics Olympiad were facilitated by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, along with the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.
