General Education Management and Development Department aims to promote the development of the general education system, providing access to quality education and educational environment.
General Education Management and Development of the Department's activities mainly include general education policy and strategy to promote, coordinate and report on its implementation; coordinate projects in the fields of General education and national and regional programs; implement programs provided by the state budget, school-related initiatives, programs for the student development, monitor and evaluate the implementation of general quality in conjunction with ensuring that the education is massively accessible. Coordinating resources and processing the provision of information. The department of General education management is in charge of approving the textbooks, in conjunction with assessing the school or any other related material.
General Education combines three divisions:
Each division has its own sphere of activities, priorities, objectives and competencies that will serve the common objectives of the General Education Management and Development Department.
Ms. Ketevan Grigolia was appointed as the deputy head of General Education Management and Development Department in April 204, and is still imposed by the duties of the department head. Ketevan Grigolia has a master’s degree in Social and Economic Geography from Tbilisi State university and has undergone various practices in Lodz and Krakow Universities.
She also holds a PhD degree from Tbilisi State University, where she later worked as a research scientist.
At various times, she served as the "GWP" senior manager of international relations and human resource management and development department.
Furthermore, for many years she was in the South Caucasus region, at the Regional Environmental Center (REC Caucasus) as the head of the Center for Education Program and developed educational programs such as "Education for Sustainable Education" and "Information and public participation." She was also an editor of quarterly magazine "News from REC Caucasus".
Ketevan Grigolia also worked as a coordinator for the Caucasus Environmental NGO network – CENN and as a deputy editor for the Caucasus Environment. She was also an expert for the Norwegian school project (resources and energy consumption (SPARE).
She was also a member of different committees and working groups:
Ms. Grigolia has undergone the trainings of many international organizations such as ( SAI Global, UNECE, REC, EU, UNEP, USAID, REC Caucasus, TACIS) for the the following topics: quality management, project management, sustainable development in the decision-making process of strengthening the promotion of human resources in terms of the effectiveness of management, sustainable development policy in Georgia, and more.
