Georgian pupils gained honorary diploma at the 11th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) in Phuket, Thailand. Participation in such Olympiad is the first success for the Georgian team.
Holder of honorary diploma - Zurab Jashi is a pupil of Tbilisi I. Vekua Physics-Mathematical School No.42, and Giorgi Grigolia is a pupil of Tbilisi Komarov Physics-Mathematical Boarding School No.199.
Success of other two members of the team – Giorgi Patashuri, a pupil of Tbilisi Komarov Physics-Mathematical Boarding School No.199, and Luka Khizanishvili, a pupil of Tbilisi I. Vekua Physics-Mathematical School No.42, is also very important, who were slightly lower than the minimum score level for awarding.
Departure of the Georgian pupils to the Olympiad was carried out with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and Tbilisi City Hall.
