Mikheil
Batiashvili: "Teacher vocation will become one of the most prestigious and
appreciated in the country".
Within
the complex transformation of the education system, one of the important
directions is the general education reform, amongst otheri important topics,
which are being implemented.
Within
the framework of the reform, one of the most important task, is the increase of
remuneration according to the competence of teachers and their status.
In
the history of teacher payroll growth, the first phase of unprecedented and
consistent policy is now under way.
Namely,
in the beginning of October 2019 all teachers with a corresponding status and
at least 15 part-time hours will receive a payrise of 150 GEL!
Namely:
-
Senior teachers will receive GEL 1011
-
Leading teachers - 1435 GEL
-
Mentor teachers - 1745 GEL
Teachers
who will have less than 15 working hours will be paid an average increase of
100 GEL. By autumn of this year, the system will have 33,000 teachers reclassified.
To this end, there are ongoing budget changes.
The
pay increase trend for teachers will be maintained and implemented step by step
so that by 2022 the results are as follows:
-
Head teacher - 1700 GEL
-
Leading Teacher - 2135 GEL
- Mentor teacher - 2445 GEL
