The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli awarded the winners of the competition “Vector M" of Mathematical and Algorithmic Thinking. The Minister congratulated the winners on their victory and wished them success during the celebratory event held at Kutaisi International University.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli: "Today, at Kutaisi International University, we awarded the winners of a remarkable competition - " Vector M ", students of XI and XII grades. I am confident that a vast amount of these bright students will continue their studies at Kutaisi International University. As you may already haeard, this exceptional university is a world-class mega project, the author of which is Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili. It was Mr. Ivanishvili’s gracious contribution, that made establishing Kutaisi International University a reality, where students from all over the world will have a wonderful and interesting experience. I would like to congratulate all the winners once again and wish them success."
As a result of the competition supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, 18 best students were identified. The winners were awarded with special prizes by the organizers: the first-place winners received a gift card worth GEL 3000, whereas, the second place winners received a gift card with a sum of GEL 2000, while te third place winners received a card with GEL 1000.
"Today, for the first time we hosted young people, who were the finalists of the competition" Vector M” at Kutaisi International University . The contestants and their parents had the opportunity to view both the academic and residential buildings of the University. Additionally, we handed over the prizes established by the Cartu Charitable Foundation to the winners" - said Aleksandre Tevzadze, Rector of Kutaisi International University.
Up to 500 participants from 55 cities and villages of Georgia were registered at the main stage of "Vector M". 73 participants advanced to the finals. The main and final stages of the project were conducted remotely, online.
Mathematical and Algorithmic Thinking Competition - "Vector M” is a qualitatively new format for development, tailored to the challenges and trends, focused on graduating students. "Vector M" participants not only demonstrate mathematical and algorithmic thinking, but also showcase their deep understanding of a specific subject. Vector M is intended for 12th graders and entrants who love Mathematics. Having said this, the project does not impose strict regulations - even 11th graders can particiate, given the opportunity.
The competition was organized by the Association for Educational Policy and Research (EPRA). It is financially supported by the Cartu International Charitable Foundation and Kutaisi International University (KIU).
