The Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari, accompanied by a delegation, is currently on a working visit to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. During this visit, Giorgi Amilakhvari held a working meeting with Emin Amrulaev, the Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The meeting focused on discussing ways to enhance cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Giorgi Amilakhvari expressed his gratitude to Emin Amrulaev for his warm hospitality and the longstanding productive partnership between the two nations. The meeting highlighted that sectoral cooperation, particularly in education and science, that has significantly strengthened within the existing strategic partnership between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan in recent years. Giorgi Amilakhvari noted that there are ongoing intensive joint educational projects, with active involvement from both ministers.

Furthermore, the meeting also explored opportunities to deepen partnerships in general and vocational education, in conjunction with discussing future plans. The discussion also emphasized the importance of strengthening university ties between Georgia and Azerbaijan and developing joint educational programs to advance higher education. Moreover, the parties discussed the execution of large-scale scientific research projects and various student exchange programs.

Minister Emin Amrulaev, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to Giorgi Amilakhvari for the outstanding partnership, friendship, and the success of the productive visit. He noted that the educational and scientific collaboration between the two countries is poised to become even more robust in the future.

The meeting was attended by several distinguished individuals, among them Aleksandre Tsuladze, the First Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia; Deputy Minister - Nodar Papukashvili; Jaba Samushia, Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University; Davit Gurgenidze, Rector of the Technical University of Georgia; and Aleksandre Tevzadze, Rector of Kutaisi International University.
