The Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari, currently on a working visit to Armenia, participated alongside Zhana Anderasyan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia, in the opening ceremony of the Kartvelology Center at Yerevan State University.
While addressing the audience, Giorgi Amilakhvari emphasized the significance of inaugurating the center in strengthening the historical bonds between the two countries. In his speech, he expressed gratitude to his Armenian counterpart Zhana Anderasyan, Yerevan State University Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, and the ambassadors of Georgia and Armenia for their vital contributions to realizing the project of establishing the Center for Georgian Studies.
Moreover, minister Giorgi Amilakhvari highlighted Georgia's commitment to supporting educational and research endeavors and the dissemination of academic knowledge related to Georgian studies in higher educational institutions of strategic partner nations. He emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts with Georgian and Armenian scientific communities to deepen cooperation between the two countries in this area.
Concluding the opening event, Giorgi Amilakhvari presented a museum copy of " The Knight in the Panther's Skin" as a gift to the center. The Center for Georgian Studies at Yerevan State University is poised to facilitate the exchange and dissemination of academic knowledge concerning Georgia's history, culture, and literature.
Prior to the opening ceremony of the Yerevan University Center for Georgian Studies, Giorgi Amilakhvari held a working meeting with Yerevan University Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan to discuss enhancing the existing bond and future cooperation with Georgian higher educational institutions through joint academic programs and scientific research projects.
Giorgi Sharvashidze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia, also attended the opening ceremony of the Georgian Studies Center at Yerevan State University.
