Organizing Committee of 43rd World Chess Olympiad and Georgian Chess Federation dedicated another beautiful event to the upcoming Olympiad: On September 4, a showcase match was played between Nona Gaprindashvili and Maia Chiburdanidze, commemorating the latters’ 40th jubilee of World Championship on Ilia Lake!

Within the scope of the EU program "EU4Youth", three new projects are being implemented to ensure the employment of young people. The implementation of the projects began in the spring of 2018, and are fully funded by the European Union. The beneficiary countries are as follows: Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine and Belarus.

The Georgian national football team has begun its preparation for UEFA League of Nations. The Georgian team will hold their first match against Kazakhstan in Astana on September 6. The aforementioned match commences at 18:00 Georgian time, and will be played on the “Astana Arena”. The match will be served by the Turkish referee brigade headed by Haleel Othal Melier. Additionally, On September 9, after returning from Kazakhstan, Georgian national team will face the national team of Latvia on “Dinamo Arena” in Tbilisi.

Georgian Tennis Player – Nikoloz Basilashvili, has defeated the current top 18th tennis player, Jack Sock in four sets with the aggregate result of – 4:6, 6:3, 6:2, 7:6 and has qualified to the 16th final of the tournament. With this victory, Nikoloz Basilashvili has secured 90th place in the ranking and has earned 156 thousand US dollars.

The chosen Youth Representative will travel to the United Nations Headquarters (New York, USA), where as a full member of the Georgian delegation, she will take part in the General Assembly's events and committee hearings. She will also participate in the elaboration of a youth decision.

The EU funded and supported summer camp 2018 has ended, which hosted 100 young students from Eastern Partnership and EU member states. A total of 30 citizens of Georgia visited the summer camp.
