For the Unified National Exams this year, 73% of entrants registered to take a foreign language exam in the English language, 17% in Russian,
7% German, and 3% in French.
The Minister, Dimitri
Shashkini talked about the reforms implemented and the main priorities of 2012
at anti crisis council’s session. “The reforms are
being implemented successfully, increasing an access to education, enhancement
of the quality of education, development
of the demanding professions and modern learning facilities are our main
priorities”, - highlighted the Minister.
Online registration
for teacher certification, unified national, high school, and master’s (GRE)
exams are over. 41,000 persons registered for the teacher certification exams; this is twice as much as the previous year.

The catalog collects information about the public schools throughout Georgia.
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini visited Kutaisi Zurab Zhvania School of Public Administration and met Armenian language public school principals of the Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe Javakheti regions.

The National Democratic Institute has
conducted research in Georgia, which found that 46% of the Georgian population thinks that the level of education in the
country has increased. 71% of the respondents consider that questions of
education are actively discussed by politicians.
Higher educational institutions
of Georgia have joined the Anti-Drug Campaign. Today, the student-government of
Georgian Technical University (GTU) held the campaign “Sport vs Drugs” in the
yard of administrative building of GTU.
Starting in the new academic year, a new
Physica-Mathematical school will be opened in Telavi. The school will start
operation on the basis of the fully rehabilitated Telavi Public School #3.
The registration process for the students’ summer employment program
“Summer Jobs” is going to be closed. Although the registration process was planned to last untill April 20, all vacant positions were filled on the first day of registration.
