April 6 marks the World Sports Day. For the first time in the history, according to the decision of the international organization - "Peace and Sport", the events and activities dedicated to the Sports Day will be transferred to the online platform. The main message of this year’s event is "I stay at home and exercise" around the world.
Under the initiative of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, a variety of interesting cultural activities are carried out online. Cultural organizations within the ministry offer general public a variety of activities: online performances, film screenings, online concerts and much more.
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, with the support of the Government of Estonia and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), is pursuing a project aimed at revising national curriculum for the upper secondary – 11-12 grades, in line with international experience and best practices. As a result, students will acquire the knowledge, skills, approaches, and competencies needed for the challenges of the 21st century and will further enable their employment. Estonia's Inove Foundation will also be actively involved in the revision of the curriculum.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, and based on the instructions and recommendations issued by the Prime Minister-led Interagency Coordination Council, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, gives its citizens the opportunity to send their official correspondence, and any relevant applications to the Ministry’s official email address: doc.info@mes.gov.ge.
To prevent the spread of Coronavirus, the Prime Minister-led Interagency Coordination Council has determined to extend the delay of the educational process. To this end, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia is strengthening the means of distance learning. Notably, skills, abilities and technical competencies acquired by the New School Model support groups are vital in this process.
Following the conclusion of the next Interagency Coordination Council headed by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli made a remark, emphasizing various interesting means of distance education, that the Ministry has to offer in light of the current situation. Amongst them, the Minister focused on the new Georgian communication platform for distance learning – Feedc Edu, offered to Georgian public schools, as an alternative communication tool.

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia - Mikheil Chkhenkeli participated in the UNESCO-organized online ministerial "COVID-19 and Open Science". The main goal of the conference was to discuss effective ways to prevent the spread of the new Coronavirus, declared pandemic, in conjunction with sharing experience of different countries in this regard.
Due to Coronavirus-related preventive measures and due to the current suspension of the learning process, a decision has been made by the Interagency Coordination Council headed by the Prime Minister, that the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia strengthens the methods of distance learning.
Today, on March 30, Teleskola was officially launched. The project was implemented in collaboration with First Channel of Georgia. Teleskola enables all students to find interesting and cognitive lessons across all subjects regardless of the Internet access.
“Stay Home” - In light of this key message, we face a significant challenge in how to make our home time more structured and as productive and effective as possible.
Owing to the decision of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, in light of recent measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus and in the interest of beneficiaries, the deadline for submitting applications is extended to April 30, 2020 by 18:00.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia is initiating the process of registration for all teachers and interested individuals. Those wishing to take the subject examination, as well as the professional competence test, will need to register electronically starting from March 30th at 10:00 am on the following web site: online.naec.ge. Please note the registration process will continue until April 30th by 6:00 pm.
