Owing to the decision of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Georgia to prevent the spread of the new corona virus, the educational institutions, including vocational colleges, have prolonged holidays in line with the recommendations of the Prime Minister's Interagency Council and the Ministry of Health.

Due to the spread of the new Corona virus (COVID - 19) - officially declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) yesterday, many sporting events around the world have been postponed or cancelled indefinitely.

In order to avoid the spread of the new Corona virus, which aims to minimize the intense concentration of people in closed indoor spaces, in conjunction with heeding the advice and recommendations issued by the Prime Minister’s Interagency Council and the Ministry of Health, The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports has made a solemn decision to temporarily cancel all culture events, performances, concerts, competitions, festivals and other proceedings.

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia - Mikheil Chkhenkeli held a meeting with rectors of higher education institutions authorized in Georgia and introduced them to the decisions of the Interagency Council on the new Coronavirus.

The competition aims to popularize Kartvelology and encourage foreign scientists working abroad to make significant achievements in Kartvelology.

Disinfection works were carried out in museums, theaters, rehearsal rooms, dressing rooms, wardrobes and inventory was processed with special antibacterial solutions.

Intensive disinfection works are continuing in public and private schools of Georgia for prevention of the new COVID-19 virus.

At this point, total disinfection has already taken place in more than 1800 public and more than 150 private schools.
