On January 10-15 of the current year, 82 teams from 18 countries participated in Zhautikov Olympiad held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Amongst the participating teams were Tbilisi Komarov and Vekua schools, as well as Razmadze Physics and Mathematical school in Kutaisi.

Within the framework of the campaign against violence against women organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, a blogging contest was held for students of VII-XII grade of general education institutions across Georgia. From 216 works, the jury has revealed three winners who will be awarded with diplomas and valuable gifts.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, upon the consultation with the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs, decided to postpone the continuation of studies at schools due to the health and safety hazards.

The main priority for the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport is the healthy and safe environment for the students and teachers alike. Although, the flu virus at natonal level does not indicate the epidemic, it is advisable that the winter holidays for the general educational institutions of the 2018-2019 academic year is extended to January 18, in order prevent the spread of the flu virus.

Citizens of Georgia who study and have received credits / qualifications in a higher education institution recognized in accordance with the laws of that country and at the time of study cover at least one semester (75 days), have the right to obtain the right to continue education in the educational institution of their preference. The National Center for Assessment and Examinations will be in charge for conducting the preliminary exam.

For the first time in Georgia, a new educational resource "Learn Georgian by the Audio Lessons" was created by the Zurab Zhvania School of Public Administration, in collaboration with UNHCR. Presentation of the project was held at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia today.

By the initiative of the Resource Officers of Educational Institution, a screening of “Maknatuna” was held at the Amirani Cinema for the students. The aim of the charity campaign is to deepen the communication and enhance friendship between the resource officers and the current school students.

The Vocational Education Development Department of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia held a working meeting with the directors of various vocational institutions, to discuss the progress of inclusive vocational education and the existing challenges of 2018. Additionally, the sides discussed the teaching process of individuals with special educational needs and ways it can be improved in the coming years.

Tbilisi Resource Officers Psychological Service Center was fully renovated. Therapy rooms, corridors, and the entire hall stretch have been fully rehabilitated. The above-mentioned therapy rooms were equipped with the necessary equipment for delivering excellent service for the children, which are fully in compliance with the modern standards.
