Extensive rehabilitation works were carried out at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University – all five floors of the second building, the building of the technological faculty, training and research areas were completely renovated and equipped, new heating system was installed, the façade was completely rehabilitated (1st and 2nd buildings), technical-material base was modified. The university dental clinic “BSU Dent”, equipped with the latest modern equipment was opened. Free working spaces, information technology office, examination center, industrial innovation lab were organized for the students, besides zoology and mineralogy cabinets, photo and video studio, playground and yard were modified.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Lia Gigauri hosted the Greek delegation, headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Terence Nicolaos Quick.
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Aleksandre Jejelava and Minister of Education, Culture and Sport of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Inga Shamilishvili visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. Aleksandre Jejelava talked about the topical issues of higher education and science at the meeting held with professors and teachers. The first official of the Ministry emphasized the importance of development of joint international educational programs, changing the rule of funding of higher education, achievements of Georgian scientists and vocational programs. The meeting was held in the mode of dialogue and the Minister answered the questions asked by the academic staff of the University.
Subsequent meeting with the members of the board of directors of public and private schools was held in Tbilisi Public School №175. The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Aleksandre Jejelava opened the meeting and introduced a new initiative of the Government to the members of the Board, which promotes and supports healthy lifestyle. Then the members of the Board presented the issues under the agenda and discussed each of them and the ways of their solution.
For the first time in Georgia, British “Oxford Brooks University” launches the bachelor’s program - Business Administration and Finance, together with the University of Business and Technology (UBT).
By organization of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, third national competition of the Worldskills Georgia was held on January 18-20 in 6 professional skills: graphic design, web design, hairdressing, cooking, confectionery and restaurant service.
