The Minister, Dimitri Shashkini, together with the governor of Imereti, Lasha Makatsaria, and the Director of the National Center for Teacher Professional Development, Gia Mamulashvili, opened a new Teacher’s House in Kutaisi.
The registration of potential students of vocational education institutions continues. Today, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Koka Sepherteladze and Minister of Health and Labor Zurab Tchiaberashvili visited vocational college “Ikarosi” and personally granted vouchers to brothers Davit and Konstantine from socially vulnerable family.
Students of Tbilisi Classical Gymnasium attended a public lecture delivered by chair of the Supreme Court and presentation of the online game “Court” as a part of the Civic Education Development program.
The National Democratic Institute has
conducted research in Georgia, which found that 46% of the Georgian population thinks that the level of education in the
country has increased. 71% of the respondents consider that questions of
education are actively discussed by politicians.
Higher educational institutions
of Georgia have joined the Anti-Drug Campaign. Today, the student-government of
Georgian Technical University (GTU) held the campaign “Sport vs Drugs” in the
yard of administrative building of GTU.
Starting in the new academic year, a new
Physica-Mathematical school will be opened in Telavi. The school will start
operation on the basis of the fully rehabilitated Telavi Public School #3.
The registration process for the students’ summer employment program
“Summer Jobs” is going to be closed. Although the registration process was planned to last untill April 20, all vacant positions were filled on the first day of registration.
Voucher based financing will
start from March 19. Volunteers willing to acquire vocational education will be
granted with vouchers in the amount of 1000GEL and opportunity to study at
preferred educational institutions.
Today, students’ registration for the summer employment

organized in the scope of Novruz Bayram.
Mikheil Saakashvili met with students of higher and
vocational education institutions and discussed with them the importance of
students’ employment project. The President also highlighted the importance of the voucher based financing system of vocational education.
On March 20, registration for the summer employment program “Summer Jobs” will
start on www.summerjob.ge. In order to raise students’ awareness
about the program and encourage their participation, students of different
higher education institutions organized a Flash Mob show with the participation
of celebrities.

Certified teachers of natural sciences will take exams in experimental piece of physics,
chemistry and biology and will receive surplus of 75GEL to their salaries.

of the priorities of the state is the development of vocational education. Based on the labor market, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia plans more
development of the nations vocational education. Based on the initiative of the Ministry,
everyone can pursue a vocational education and develop his/her skills.
