Tbilisi Classical Gymnasium joined the action “I am here”, aimed at establishment of a center for people over 15 years old with autistic spectrum. The idea of establishment of the center belongs to “Autism Research and Promotion Foundation”, which was established by parents of children with autistic spectrum.

Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia held a working meeting with Magda Magradze, Executive Director of the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) and Jenner Edelman, Head of the US Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Representative Office in Georgia. The Minister introduced them the vision to the main priorities and directions of the Ministry of Education and Science.

Today the meeting was held with the American director David Lynch and the members of the delegation of his foundation in the Parliament of Georgia. The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Education and Science and Culture and Monument Protection, Chairperson of the Education, Science and Culture Committee of Parliament and other members of the Parliament. The discussion touched upon David Lynch’s initiative on opening of a new international film school in Tbilisi.

Tbilisi State University highly appreciates the activities of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mikheil Chkhenkeli. According to the decision of the Academic Council of the University, Mikheil Chkhenkeli was awarded with the Ivane Javakhishvili Medal for special merit and productive organizational activities rendered for Tbilisi State University.

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Mikheil Chkhenkeli and Deputy Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic - Dana Prudikova signed the cooperation agreement in the field of education and science and expressed their readiness for close cooperation in the field of primary, secondary, vocational, higher education and science.

Minister of Education and Science - Mikheil Chkhenkeli met the chairperson of the Education, Science and Culture Committee of the Parliament of Georgia - Mariam Jashi on his first working day. The challenges in the field of education and science were discussed at the meeting. In this regard, there was coincidence of opinions and agreement that the Ministry will continue close cooperation with the Committee in terms of solution of the problems and implementation of new initiatives.

By order of Aleksandre Jejelava, minister of education and science the 10th, 11th ad 12th forms are added to Shuapkho public school. During years pupils got only 9-form education there.

In regard with the 180th anniversary of Ilia Chavchavadze’s birth various activities were planned. Within these activities Ilia’s home museum in Kvareli hosted the awarding ceremony of successful schoolchildren.
