An international conference - “Horizon 2020” was held, which is devoted towards the enhancement of Georgian scientists involved in the EU associated research and innovation program, which was attended by the Minister of Education and Science – Aleksandre Jejelava, as well as the representatives of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation and other partner institution officials.

Today, on a highly ranked official meetings, the future the relationship between these two countries were discussed, as well as the prospects of further enhancing the relationship, in terms of education and economy.

The Prime Minister of Georgia – Giorgi Kvirikashvili, together with the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Aleksandre Jejelava, visited the new David Tvildiani Medical University Campus, which at this stage, only plans to receive foreign students, but in future, the university will also select Georgian students, who will be able to live and study there.

The deputy Minister of Education and Science – Lia Gigauri visited the newly renovated public school in village Chunchkhi, Akhalkalaki Municipality. According to fire, which happened on November 1, 2016, the auxiliary wooden building was fully burnt, which contained three classrooms, school library and a laboratory of natural sciences.

The representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia attended a Nodar Dumbadze play – “Helados” which was presented by the public school N200. The play was organized, within the scope of having an open day at the school. Furthermore, the play constituted towards getting acquainted with the principles of working with the SEN students.

On November 1, 2016 the fire was caused and unfortunately burnt down the wooden auxiliary building of the public school in Chunchkha village, thus burning down three classrooms, the school library and the science lab. As a result, many books and laboratory equipment was destroyed.

The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Aleksandre Jejelava, awarded the successful students with various gifts and monetary prizes, for winning in various International School Olympiads. The Minister awarded five students in having won the International Subject Olympiad, whereas 13 of them were awarded for winning the National Information Technology (IT) tournament.
