School Resource Officers visited the Infants Boarding School and spent one day with infants. They gave different kinds of presents to infants and assisted the teachers in solving everyday problems.

In the scope of his official visit to the US, Minister Dimitri Shashkini held a meeting with the Deputy Assistance Secretary of State for Education Affairs, Marianne Craven. Current developments in the Georgian education sector and programs for the enhancement of English Language Instruction, including the TLG program and English classes beginning in the first-class, were discussed during the meeting.

In order to strengthen instruction of the English language, English language cabinets will be opened in the schools of Georgia. Schoolchildren will be taught English by Georgian and native English-speaking teachers. The cabinets will be equipped with English language teaching materials, visual, and audio resources.

The Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini, paid an official visit to the United States.  In the frame of this visit, the Minister held meetings with the representatives of 31 leading higher educational institutions, including Georgia State University, Cornell University, Emory University, the University of Pittsburg, Florida International University, the University of District of Columbia, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Alabama.

The Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation organized another international scientific conference. The conference was held in the National Center for Manuscripts over a 4 day period. The topics of the conference included: Georgian historical territories abroad; Georgian monasteries abroad; Georgian manuscripts; and archival heritage.

First Deputy Minister Koka Sepherteladze and Governor of Kvemo Kartli David Kirkitadze visited a newly built school in the village of Karajala, Dmanisi municipality and presented the first graders with new Georgian language textbooks, as well as other learning materials.

Ten Resource Officers, schoolchildren, and teachers of Tbilisi Public School №151 took part in activities to keep the environment clean. Resource Officers participate in such events to take care of the surrounding environment and keep it ecologically safe and healthy.

President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili congratulated the schoolchildren on beginning of new school year and visited the classroom that is equipped with modern technologies at Tbilisi Experimental School №1. The classroom has been renovated and equipped by the company Geocell.
