By the decision of the Ministry of
Education and Science of Georgia, a pretest for final exams of the 11th
grade students will take place tomorrow in whole Georgia. Accordingly, the
examination will start the day after tomorrow on June 17 from 9:00am.

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli
Garibashvili met with doctoral students who won in the competition. Shota
Rustaveli National Science Foundation of the Ministry of Education and Science
is organizing grant competition of doctorate educational programs since 2013.
Doctoral students, winners of the competition, for the first time in Georgia,
are receiving state funding.

In №147 public school of
Tbilisi, staff of emergency situation was established which, along with
directorate of the school and teachers, will be headed by the school’s resource
officer. Today representatives of Emergency Situations Management Agency of the
Ministry of Internal Affairs visited school and along with members of the
staff, carried out practical exercise how to safely evacuate pupils during
emergency situations (i.e. fire, earthquake). Minister of Education and Science
Tamar Sanikidze attended exercises.

Rehabilitation of public schools
by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is proceeding without
delays. At this time, the Minister Tamar Sanikidze got familiarized with
rehabilitation works going in the school №200 where Educational and Scientific
Infrastructure Development Agency is
carrying out renovation of yard, installation of ramped approach and entrance
door to the school.

meetings with directors and teachers of schools existed in Georgia. For this
purpose, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Lia Gigauri,
met with directors and teachers of 20 public schools of Borjomi
municipality.

international conference “Moving Skills Forward Together – Torino Process 2015”
is going on, organized by the European Training Foundation (ETF) which is
attended by the representatives of member countries, European Commission,
European Parliament, partner countries of the ETF, various international
organizations, social partners and other interested parties.

Works are going on to support
and facilitate development of science. The Minister of Education and Science,
Tamar Sanikidze met with representatives of Massachusetts Institute of
Technology (MIT). Main discussion was about the ongoing project within the
frameworks of which study of potential of innovation and commercialization of
technologies for scientific research institutes existed in Georgia is carried
out.

In the hotel Tbilisi Marriott a
final round of scientific-innovative competition of schoolgirls was held. 20
finalist schoolgirls made a presentation of innovative project. The competent
jury determined winner projects and presented them with prizes and gifts.

International Day for Protection of Children, Tamar Sanikidze, the Minister of
Education and Science of Georgia attended exhibition of works made by pupils
with Special Educational Needs. Exhibition was held in the Botany Institute of
Ilia State University. The minister took part on various activities along with
children.

First victory ceremony for
literary prize “Amirani” was held in authorial school №6. The purpose of
contest is to revealing of youth gifted with creative capabilities, support for
their personal and creative growth. In the competition works of pupils from
VII-XII classes were judged in three nominations. In particular, “The Best
Poetic Composition”, “The Best Prosaic Composition” and “The Best Translation”.
29 finalists were determined.
