The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia continues the process of introducing nurse’s offices at schools and providing them with equipment.  Today, Minister Tamar Sanikidze visited Tbilisi Public School #9 and familiarized herself with the operation of both the renovated nurse’s office and the school physician.

On May 4, International Anti-Bullying Day is celebrated. Tbilisi Classical Gymnasium joined in the celebration and unveiled its anti-bully campaign. Tamar Sanikidze, the Georgian Minister of Education and Science, attended the event and joined in the protest.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia expresses gratitude towards the organizer of the anti-bully campaign – the direction of Tbilisi Classical Gymnasium - and all the pupils and teachers who participated in the campaign. Bullying, be it children or anyone else, is a big problem which all of us should unite against. The Ministry joins the campaign, promises to support the initiative of the First Classical Gymnasium, and appeals to schools to join the campaign and express their attitude towards bullying.

The commission for studying dismissals of the staff of public schools and education resource centers on the grounds of political views presented its bi-annual report. The presentation was attended by the Georgian Minister of Education and Science – Tamar Sanikidze, parliamentarians, diplomats, and representatives of different organizations specialising in human rights protection.

The Internal Audit Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia has finished working on the report of the National Center of Manuscripts, which has already been sent to the Center. In accordance with the procedures determined by the law, the center ought to present their opinions about the report by the Audit Department within 10 days, after which a reconciled and approved report will be publicized.

With the help of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), new projects which involve certification in quality management (according to the ISO International Standards) in order to support vocational institutions, might be launched at the National Center for Education Quality Enhancement of the Ministry of Education and Science.

The awarding ceremony of HMC projects winners took place at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The winners that will be attending a one-year course at British schools were awarded certificates by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Lia Gigiauri.
