The
Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia undertook a national assessment of
the first graders in English Language and IT technologies; the first Deputy
Minister, Koka Sepherteladze held a briefing on the primary results of the
assessment.
The Minister, Dimitri Shashkini and the governor of Kvemo Kartli, Davit
Kirkitadze, visited a family of Teona Abuladze – a volunteer teacher and
participant of the program “Georgian Language for Future Success” and
congratulated her on the New Year.

visited Brittany Tolar - a volunteer teacher and congratulated her on the New
Year. Brittany Tolar has earned MA in
education administration, she also has an extensive teaching experience;
The Ministry of Education
and Science of Georgia hosted the children of the heroes diseased in the war of
2008. New Year concert was staged
specially for these children with participation of “Basti Bubu” actors and
animators.
The Minister of Education and
Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini visited socially vulnerable eleventh
grader of Tbilisi №10
public school, Giorgi Berdzenishvili and congratulated him on the New Year. The
Minister granted Giorgi a PC and fulfilled Giorgi’s the biggest New Year wish.
The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia,
Dimitri Shashkini, paid a traditional visit to the boarding-school №200 and together
with popular TV anchor Duta Skhirtladze presented the schoolchildren with the
New Year gifts. The schoolchildren staged the New Year concert for the guests.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia
revealed the best schoolchildren, school principals, resource officers, the
schools and the head of resource centers of 2011.
The
resource officers together with the students of Tbilisi public school#53 took a
tour of the computer factory “Algorithm”.
The schoolchildren observed a process of computer assembling and
installing the software into the devices.
The
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini, held the
briefing for the journalists at the press-club “Prime Time”. As Minister stated,
in 2011 Ministry was implementing projects in 42 directions.
The
First Deputy Minister, Koka Sepherteladze, awarded the winners of the contest“The
goal of my life”. The
contest was organized in two rounds for two age groups (VII-IX; X-XII-th
graders) and up to 100 000 schoolchildren participated in it.
The Minister of Education and Science
of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini, highlighted the achievements in the education
field and introduced a strategic plan of 2012 to the invited guests including
the MPs, university rectors, scientists, principals of the school and
vocational colleges, school resource officers, students and the representatives
of NGO sector.
Minister of Education and Science
of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini met the winner of the TV show “Imedis Gmiri”,
Professor of Teheran University, Philology of Georgian language Said Muliani. Minister
presented Said Muliani with net-books and text-books for the Georgian Sunday
School founded by Said Muliani in Freidan.
Representatives of the National Center for
Teacher Professional Development visited Chiatura Boarding-School #12. They wished
them happy holidays and presented them with sweets and toys.
Construction
of the new school will begin soon inthe Village of Shibliani, Sagarejo
Municipality; the Minister, Dimitri Shashkini and representatives of the local
municipality observed the construction site.
The national team of Georgia
returned from Bulgaria with two gold and one bronze medal. President of Georgia Mikheil Saskashvili
awarded with IPADs 11th grader Jimsher Skhirtladze, 10th
grader Nika Nadiradze and Nikoloz Svanadze for achieved success in Informatics.
