The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, has opened a Horizon Europe Grant Office at Gori State Teaching University, which will facilitate the successful participation of Georgian scientists in EU grant competitions and serve the needs of the region. 

The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli participated in the opening ceremony of the Tbilisi office of Evgeni Kharadze Georgian National Astrophysical Observatory, addressed the audience and congratulated them on the opening of a new working space. 

The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli met with the President of the University of New York (NYU) Andrew Hamilton during his visit to the United States. Mikheil Chkhenkeli introduced the Ministry's policy regarding the internationalization of higher education to the President of the University.

The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli opened the international online conference "Ancient and Byzantine World in the Light of Interdisciplinary Studies" organized by the Institute of Classical Philology, Byzantine Studies and Neo-Greek Studies at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.

On the occasion of the 20^th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, a memorial "Artifact of the World Trade Center" was exhibited at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and a photo exhibition depicting the tragedy was held. The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli attended the opening of the event.

The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, Maria Elena Al-Gabre, and discussed future plans for cooperation in higher education and science.

Public and private schools, vocational schools and higher education institutions throughout Georgia will start distance learning on September 15 and the study in this format will continue until October 4. 

The selection of students for most of the vocational education programs this year will be organized by the colleges and will mostly take place online from 23 August to 19 September.

Ekaterine Dgebuadze, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, was vaccinated with the second dose of Pfizer vaccine in Batumi. She positively assessed the fact that, today 46% of teachers across Georgia are now fully vaccinated. Ekaterine Dgebuadze thanked each teacher for her high civic responsibility.

The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli together with the representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Ghasan Khalil in Georgia attended the process of teacher immunization at Tbilisi State Medical University.
